Rebecca

Physical Therapy Assistant

Rebecca began working at Independence Health & Therapy as a high school volunteer. Several years later she returned as a Physical Therapy Assistant. “It was my number one choice after college,” Rebecca said.

Today as a therapist, Rebecca says that being able to offer individualized care is what she values most about working at Independence.

“We have one-on-one full hour sessions, which you don’t see much anymore. We don’t have the pressure to rotate between patients, and that’s a lot better when it comes to helping people reach their goals.”

Something else she enjoys is serving clients of all ages. “We have patients as young as 3 months old. We see school aged children, adults, and older patients. We all love that, and it also helps keep our skills sharp.

“I tell people all the time: I’m not just a physical therapist. We look at the whole person, offer support in many different areas, and do whatever we can to see that their needs are met. I’m not just wearing a physical therapist’s hat every day.”
